According to statistics released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the US produced 1.899 million short tons of crude steel in the week ended on August 11st, rising by 1.9 from 1.863 million short tons in a week earlier.
Also, the figures rose by 2.6% in comparison of 1.851illion short tons in the same period of a year earlier.
In the given period of time, the capacity utilization rate of the US steelmaking facilities was at 76.9%, higher than 75.4% in a week earlier.
